DP Series: Sound Deadening and Insulated

The DP Series is built for demanding applications where sound dampening and insulation are critical.

Construction Details

• Core: The door cavity is filled with a permanently laminated (bonded) solid slab of expanded polystyrene foam core on the inside of each face skin, providing excellent insulation and sound deadening.
• Perimeter: The complete unit is securely closed with 14-gauge steel perimeter channels, spot-welded every 8 inches on center.
• Edges: Doors feature square edges with exposed stitch-welded, full-height hairline seams.
  • Optional: Fully seam-welded vertical edges, or 3- or 4-sided box seam welding are available.

Hardware Reinforcement

We build our doors to last, focusing on the points that see the most use:

• Hinges: Mortised and reinforced with 7-gauge hinge plates for maximum strength.
• Locks: Reinforced with a durable 16-gauge box-type structure.
• Closers: Reinforced with 12-gauge material when required.
• Precision: Using 3D SolidWorks CAD and CNC manufacturing, all hardware locations are mortised, drilled, and tapped from the factory for a perfect fit.

The DP Series conforms to NAAMM-HMMA Commercial Standards and Federal Specifications.

Stainless Steel: A True Rust Prohibitive Solution

If your project involves highly corrosive elements—think coastal regions, industrial wash-down areas, or demanding chemical environments—stainless steel is the answer.

Our stainless steel doors provide a rust-prohibitive alternative to standard galvanneal doors and are a more cost-effective choice than molded doors.

Series Construction Overview

Our hollow metal doors are fabricated using high-quality stainless steel face sheets, available in:

• Gauges: 16, 14, or 12 gauge
• Material: Type 304 or 316
• Finishes: No.3, No.4, or 2b mill finish

All doors feature 14-gauge stainless steel vertical reinforcing channels running the full height of both the hinge and lock stiles. Top and bottom channels are continuous 16- or 14-gauge stainless steel.

Finishing Touches: Both hinge and lock edges are fully welded. To ensure a sleek finish, the seam-welded edges and all reinforcement welds are meticulously ground and polished.

Fire Ratings

U.L. and Warnock Hersey label doors are available with honeycomb cores (DH Series) for fire ratings of 20 minute, 3/4 hour, 1-1/2 hour, and 3 hours.
